A Self-Portrait of Your Writing

How would you describe your background in writing?
Do you have a current work-in-progress (“WIP”)? If so, what is its working title, genre, and word count?
Have you worked with a book coach or editor on your current work? If so, how many revisions have you made?
If you had thirty seconds to describe your WIP to a potential reader, what would you say?
Where did you get the idea for your book?
What are five books that are comparable to yours? i.e., Where would a bookstore shelve it?
What are your goals for this book and for your writing career in general?
Why is your book important to you?
How are you uniquely qualified to write your book?
How would you like your book to impact a reader? i.e., What difference would it make in the reader’s life?
What is your plan for the book’s publication? i.e., Are you planning to pitch it to an agent in hopes of landing a deal with a major publisher, planning to publish it as an Indie book, or planning to use a hybrid publisher?
What’s the best part about being a writer?
What’s the hardest part of being a writer?
Which component of your writing is the strongest, and which needs the most work?
Do you feel you would be able to work with a book coach even if it meant making major revisions to your book? i.e., Are you able to accept constructive criticism of your work, or do you believe that what you have written is set in stone and a coach shouldn’t tinker with it?
